Real experiences on property hunting
WE GAVE IT A FACE LIFT
SITUATION: Couple looking for a cheap spanish property to renovate.
There are many cheap properties in Spain for renovation. If you have a tight budget
or just want to renovate a property, in the southern ebro valley you
can find some interesting ruins.
This couple, searching for property to renovate, was quite open at nearly every property we showed them, not caring so much if
it had or not mains electricity, their main concern was that at least it should have water
supply. They finally decided on a lovely cottage for renovation with well water. We offered them our
after-sales service to carry out all the paperwork in regards to the electric supply,
the architect plans, etc... to be able to legally renovate the property.
The owners are satisfied
with the builder's work and they are now enjoying their new spanish lifestyle in their lovely renovated
cottage.
TIP: When it comes to ruins or property less than a 100.000 euros be open
to another way of obtaining services.
Ruins are ruins, there is nothing special about them. The only thing that
makes them really attractive is the footprint and their potential. When you
look at small cottages imagine how you could convert that into a lovely cozy home. To renovate your own property is a very
interesting opportunity as you are able to add a special touch to it, which will make it unique and different to other ones.
Once the renovation project is finished, the pleasure to see how it has come along and how it has been totally converted is
higher than having a ready to move in property.
It is also important to consider other possibilities when it comes to
electricity and water supply. Over here most of the country rustic fincas have water deposits (which can be
delivered at your property at a day's notice, and the approximate cost for 10.000 lts is around 100 euros) or wells, and
solar power and generators for electric. It is all a matter of adapting
to this other way of getting the main services such as water, electric, and telephone.
Properties in Spain to renovate can vary from very cheap prices to quite high ones, this depends on the size of the building, the
type (dry or wet) and size of land, the plantations they have on the land, and the services they have connected, and the location.
