Baix Ebre and surrounding curiosities

During the conquest of the Gallia,
Julius Cesar sent a person specially from Flandes to Hispania to buy wood for
naval construction, due to the high standard of hispanic woods in those days (these
also refer to the Ports of Beseit Mountain Range).

The Ports of Beseit mountain
range was declared by the Generalitat of Catalunya in July 2001 as Natural Park.
This protected area is of national interest due to its extension, varied orography,
rich vegetation and wildlife. The Mountain Goat (Cabra Hispánica) is one of the
protected animals in this Natural Park.

Mount Caro is the highest point
of the Ports of Beseit mountain range with an altitude of 1447 mts.
