properties? Here you will find key property terms with the translation
in english. For those who are soon coming, they will be quite useful. Some words
may have several meanings depending on the context, we have translated them
according to the use spanish make related to properties. They have been listed
in alphabethical order.

| Administración municipal | Local Council |
| Amueblado | Furnished |
| Ayuntamiento | Town Hall |
| Casa adosada | Terraced House |
| Casa de pueblo | Village House with a small plot of land or Townhouse with several storeys and no land. |
| Casita | Small building set on a plot of land. Usually to renovate. |
| Catastro | Land Office concerned with measurements and physical description |
| Corral | Enclosed area to keep animals. Nowadays it is usually a large footprint on the land. |
| Depósito de agua | Water deposit |
| Escritura | Deeds |
| Finca | Term used to describe a plot of land in the countryside with a ruin or small to medium building to renovate. |
| Grupo | Generator |
| Hipoteca | Mortgage |
| Impuesto | Tax |
| IBI | Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles = Property tax paid once a year |
| Jornal | Land measure. 1 jornal = 1/2 acre or 2190 sq.m. |
| Lindes | Property limits. |
| Masia | Term used to describe a large rustic stone farmhouse either to renovate or to move in. Usually has loads of land with it. |
| N.I.E | Numero de Identificacion de Extranjeros = Foreigners Identification number. You will need the NIE numbers to legally purchase a property in Spain. |
| Nota simple | Simple copy showing the legal condition of the property; if it's free from de debts, etc... |

| Perito | Building Survayor |
| Permiso de Obra | Building permission |
| Piso | Flat or tow |
| Pozo | Well |
| Ruina | Ruin |
| Terreno | Land |
| Urbanización | Housing Estate |
| Viga | Beam |
